Jill Riemer

Playworks
Regional Director - Pacific Northwest
Jill joined Playworks in the spring of 2019 to help amplify the work of this non-profit that started in the Bay Area in 1995 to solve the recess problem. At Playworks, we believe in the power of play to bring out the best in every kid. And as the new Director of Playworks Washington, Jill will be expanding our founding board along with setting into motion our annual community engagement events to strengthen our strong corporate, sports, health, philanthropic and education partnerships. Prior to joining Playworks, she served as the Director of Partnerships for Summit Public Schools and was the founding executive director of the Georgia afterschool network. Her earlier work in education policy while in Washington DC helped her spearhead several national education efforts including the creation of the GEAR UP program, Pathways to College Network and serve the team that supported the growth of the 21st Community Learning Centers program while working for the US Secretary of Education, Dick Riley. Jill holds a B.S. in Education from the University of Kansas and a Masters in Public Administration from The George Washington University. When not working, Jill loves spending her spare time in her garden, the San Juan islands, biking, hiking, cross country skiing, and hanging out with her family.
