Fausto A. Lopez

Fausto A. López is a Spanish speaking, senior technical assistance consultant working on school climate; social and emotional learning; and afterschool and expanded learning initiatives at AIR. He provides technical assistance, training, and professional development to diverse audiences in the education and out-of-school time sectors. López works with new and emerging afterschool systems to design resources and tools that support programs in the development, implementation, and applied evaluation of program offerings. López specializes in U.S. Department of Education, Elementary and Secondary Education Act initiatives (21st CCLC, GEAR UP, and Upward Bound). López works on international projects (USID) and co-developed an expanded learning guide, training model, and tools for afterschool programs in Latin America (Mexico and Argentina). He is a nationally recognized presenter on youth development and related education topics. He facilitates national, regional, and statewide educational workshops that bring the most up-to-date research to the field in exciting and relatable formats (e.g., Beyond the Bell Toolkit). He holds a master’s degree in education psychology-youth development from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
