Kelly originally hails from California, though she’s moved around quite a bit before most recently landing in Seattle! She graduated from Colby College (Waterville, ME) in 2011, where she was a Biology major with minors in both Art and Environmental Studies. She's a California and Michigan certified Science teacher who spent two years teaching 7th grade Science in Oakland, California before moving to Michigan and beginning her work in in OST programming with the Eastern Michigan University Bright Futures program in 2013. While working she completed her master’s degree with Eastern Michigan University in Educational Leadership: K-12 Administration. Kelly’s expertise includes STEM and social-emotional learning (SEL) curriculum development, staff supervision and development, parent and community engagement, and program management. She’s worked closely with the Weikart Center for Youth Development in the development and validation of the SEL PQA tool and considers herself to be a lifelong learner.

Kelly loves working with youth and youth development professionals in classroom settings, in the outdoors, and especially AFTER SCHOOL! In her free time you can usually find her playing with her cats (Merlin and River), walking, running and hiking with her dog (Charlie), or cooking with her husband, Peter.
