Social and Emotional Learning in Practice: A Toolkit of Practical Strategies and Resources is a flexible set of practical tools, templates and activities that can be used with staff and youth to increase intentional practices to support SEL. This interactive workshop explores strategies to 1) enhance staff knowledge of SEL, 2) establish expectations, give feedback and integrate reflection, 3) infuse SEL into program activities with young people, and 4) collect SEL data for improvement. This hands-on workshop provides an overview of what’s in this free toolkit as well as an opportunity to try out items and walk away with ideas to use right away. It will specifically highlight activities to help youth explore and share their identities, and to help staff explore their cultural values and preferences that influence SEL. While the toolkit is designed primarily for those working with middle-school-aged youth, with slight modifications the activities are appropriate for other age groups.
